A highly important and monumental pair Sèvres-style porcelain jardiniere / vase, mounted in the finest ormolu. Most definitely commissioned for a royal family in Paris. 19th century, circa 1880. Each body is molded with three large cartouches finely painted one side in the manner of boucher with putti either emblematic of summer or emblematic of love, the other two sides with amatory and musical trophies, all reserved by gilt trellis, supported by three tall foliate scroll feet above an onyx base. Measures: 54″ high x 25″ wide x 25″ deep.
